Bradley Wik and The Charlatans…
Bradley Wik(Vocals, Guitar), Sasha Shybut(Bass, Vocals), Brian Bergstrom(Lead Guitar, Vocals) and Nick Kostenborder(Drums, Vocals) met and began playing almost immediately after Bradley moved to Portland from Brooklyn in early 2009. They have been lucky enough to also have Matthew Casebeer(Keys, Vocals) play live with them. They play classic-styled, straight up Rock N’ Roll music with soul and passion which has been compared to the likes of Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and more recent bands like the Hold Steady and the Gaslight Anthem. Their live shows are high-energy affairs with loud and growling guitars and pounding drums. Last year had a whirlwind recording session laying down five songs(with the help of Jon Fickes on lead guitar), “The Winners and the Losers EP,” at Foundry Studios, completing the entire session in a mere two days. They are now playing shows throughout the Northwest and soon beyond…“The Winners and the Losers” was recorded live at Foundry Studios (foundryforsound.com) in Seattle, WA by the magnificent Pierre Ferguson who did so much for us and we cannot thank enough for making the recording process so much fun and so easy. Special thanks to Norm for lending his ideas and voice to the record. Thanks guy. Also, we would like to thank Jon and Ashley for letting us crash at their place. And another thanks to Jon for playing on the record and for roughing it out on our second day of recording despite a massive hangover. The band would also like to thank Fender for their awesome guitars and amps and Ludwig for their amazing drums…
